The title of this slot doesn’t keep much under wraps. We are focusing on a diamond mine here, and a super one at that, according to the title. But is this a mine you’ll want to return to, or will it prove to be disappointing? We can only find out by taking you through our complete slot game review for the Super Diamond Mine game.
Developer info to start
This can tell us plenty about any game. In this case, the creator is RTG.
Be sure you try the demo first
We would always suggest you do, but this is one of the earliest efforts released by Realtime Gaming. You’ll see just how early when you look at the graphics. It still carries some appeal though for sure.
You’ve already got the theme
The game is set inside a diamond mine, and there are hints of this – albeit basic ones – around the reels.
A basic design that still manages to set up the theme
There are sticks of dynamite sitting around the top right of the reels, with someone waiting to press the detonator on the left of the reels. You’ll find dynamite, rocks, and bar symbols among the icons on the reels themselves, along with the mine entrance.
How to play the Super Diamond Mine slot game
The five-reel format appears here, with each reel getting a basic white background. There is a jackpot involved too, increasing in value above the reels. Hold tight for a surprise because there are no wilds or scatters in this game. There are, however, some diamonds, and we’ll get to those shortly.
A manageable number of paylines
While lots of RTG games have 20 or more lines involved, this one stops at nine. You’ll see how they’re laid out when you look at the numbers on each side of the
screen.
Coin range in play
Super Diamond Mine accepts coins from a cent up to $5. You can also play up to five coins on each line.
Don’t miss the paytable
This is simple to spot, and it gives you information about those diamonds. That’s something we are about to do as well.
Bonus diamonds to collect
When diamonds land on the reels, they may point up or down. If you get one pointing upwards, you’ll see another diamond appear above it. The ones pointing down do the same in that direction. All diamonds go into the meter on the screen, shown where the dynamite is scattered above the fifth reel.
Once you reach 99 diamonds, another screen loads with several mine entrances to explore. A miner waits for your instruction to enter a mine. The idea is to enter as many as you can before you pick one that caves in. Poor miner! This is an alternative to the usual COLLECT message, so see if you can net plenty of coins in the other mines before finding that one. The best prize in this round is 4,950 coins.
No free spins to claim
Super Diamond Mine doesn’t have any free spins available, sadly.
The usual RTP value?
We cannot know for sure as it can vary from one site to another. However, the usual ballpark figure is around 95% for this sort of slot from RTG.
Our rating after playing Super Diamond Mine
It’s unusual, for sure, but its basic graphics are a little disappointing compared to the many modern slots you could now choose from the same developer. The unusual diamond collection bonus ekes out the score to 7/10 though.
Check out the paytable for the prizes
There is the jackpot too, of course, but this isn’t likely to go that high as it is an older game and less popular than newer ones.
Play for some demo experience
You can then see if you like what you see enough to enter the mine for real…
Watch for those diamonds in the real game
You’ll want to get the most you can as you play, so you can send the miner in after some prizes in the bonus round.
Not available on mobile
You might have guessed this due to the age of the game. You can still play on computers though.
